Yea if anything you'd want part # ATP 16455 from napa, its gray not the blue one numbered NOS 19966 you mentioned, that one appears to be the stock seal.

Couple people claim you can get it from napa and if so it'd have to be ATP 16455 (claimed to be the Viton seal but does not look exactly the same as the viton linked to above) ask them verify it is the Viton seal, would think it would state it on the box. If not I'd order one so I knew it was a Viton seal.

Just did my second rebuild of my e4od and unless you want to replace the seal again, use the viton seal. Most parts stores have them. I'm not too sure how many miles are on that trans but that is a a first generation (E9) pump. If you ever do a rebuild, your best friend is the astg update manual and rebuild manual.

Have the correct seal installed. Thank you guys for the part number and description. However I noticed a broken flange. Some of it is still on there but I found the rest under the truck in three pieces. You may notice this broken in my earlier pictures but here are a couple more for greater clarity

Is this something that is a game ender, can I fix this? Is it important enough of a part to fix it prior to installing transmission? (ill catch flak for that last question ha ha)
Thank you guys for helping me with this, I have never messed with a transmission before especially on a Ford

Ok, so have done some more research and I THINK I found that part...called a speedi-sleeve or redi-sleeve?? If that's it, doesn't sound like a big deal to replace. Hoping to get that trans installed today so I can go haul some deer home from the woods! Thanks guys

Here are the pictures again...this time with arrows to specify. Sorry, I just realized that, unless you knew what I know, you would have no idea what I was talking about.

yellow arrow is pointing to blue plastic/teflon ring/bushing. blue-grey arrow is point to piece that broke. You can see the rest of it is missing

<a href="http://s51.photobucket.com/user/afmikeg777/media/100MEDIA_IMAG0653-2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f368/afmikeg777/100MEDIA_IMAG0653-2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100MEDIA_IMAG0653-2.jpg"/></a>

HUGE arrows, sorry. This picture is with blue thing removed, arrow on left points to what is what remains of piece. Arrow on right shows where it is missing and you can see where it broke from sleeve that is inside of the front pump shaft
(I dont think arrows are showing, sorry) but it is still oriented basically left and right)

OK, so I found out it is part of the front pump planetary. So, I got another front pump. NOW I have to get another front pump seal because I have to remove the one I JUST INSTALLED...crapola man that sucks. Should I be looking at getting the outer pump seal as well? I just want to get this trans back in

When you TRY to install that pump, be sure to have the transmission standing on it's tail, (pump up). If you don't, things will fall out of place and you won't be able to get it back together at all.

Yea your pictures are really small so its hard to say for sure but it looks bad, looks like the pump drive hub has some pieces snapped off but can't tell for sure.

Couple images with instruction might prove helpful reinstalling the pump into trans, looks like offers tidbits, little bit of that "need to know" type info for best results.

Wow Dan, thank you! I really appreciate all you're help on this. Yeah sorry about the small pictures...I just ended up going to local transmission shop and showed the guy there the pictures on the phone...you can actually see them and zoom in. He told me right away what it was, showed me a pump he had...sure enough the other one wad in tact of course. He then had another one there that he sold me for under $100
Am hoping to pick up a transmission jack tomorrow so I can install it without braking anything else
Thanks again sir

Thanks for blowing that picture up! Still figuring that part out.
Ok so that is not an unusual amount? I can only assume that this transmission has never been serviced before so this might be 106K miles worth of debris.

Got this truck from an acquaintance. He drove the truck hard, blew a head gasket and it parked for over a year so....you know those kind of people that don't take care of anything.
"Luckily" I got the truck for what I thought was a good deal....we shall see
