Which 6" lift from who do you think is best.....Skyjacker, BDS, Dick Cepek, or Pro Comp? I'm kinda leaning towards the BDS right now....but if some of you could please tell me your opinions on quality and etc. Thanks, i really appreciate because i'm really stuck on what i should eventually go with.
I just put on a BDS 4" lift. I chose it because of the Lifetime guarantee and all parts are made in Amaerica. It rides well and I can't find any issues with it.
From what I hear BDS makes an alright lift but they just arn't very popular for some reason. I went with skyjacker because a ton of people have them so I know they are a quality lift. I got the 6" with radius arms and rear springs. The ride is awesome, not any worse then stock, and with my new steering system it rides better than stock. Alignment is almost perfect, I havn't taken it down for the alignment yet but it looks like it's still in spec. In my opinion, both are good lifts but I havn't had any person experience with BDS.
The one reason i was leaning towards Dick Cepek and BDS is thier radius arms seem longer and beefier, but i dunno since ive never actually seen their kits up close or anything lol. I know with DC you can't get completely new rear springs, but i know with BDS and Skyjacker you can.
BDS makes nice lift components, very beefy. Their shocks, in my opinion, SUCK! So if you go with BDS I HIGHLY recommend different shocks. I run a Superlift liftkit and Doetsch Tech pre-runner shocks on my Bronco and it rides better than stock. BDS shocks are ROUGH and on a buddies F-350 only lasted about 3 months before they started hanging up. So, ok to go BDS for components, but NOT ok to go to BDS for shocks.
Should I just go with some Rancho shocks or something than? Or do you think those Doetsch's are better? The owner before me installed Superlift shocks on mine. Thanks for the replies.
I've run superlift shocks and liked them. Rancho's are kinda cheap (not meaning inexpensive) but if you are not going to do a lot of serious off road driving, they will be fine. I LOVE my Doetsch Tech's and they really are not that expensive. www.doetsch-shocks.com is their website. I got mine at Michigan Off Road Tire and he can do mail order for you. Bart owns the place and does all the work so he has a LOT of knowledge, you can call him at 616-546-3784. If you want anything else you can e-mail me at mike@vikingspas.com and I can see what I can do for you.
