I count 31 but I'm guessing this is the DIY list not a full one, came from my Ford CD for anyone looking for what a code means in this thread.

Mark beat me to it.

What's the point of this forum if all you can provide is that there are 100's of codes?
Again, Mark beat me to it.

Heck, I'd even be surprised if you could come up with a list of the top 5 reasons that OD light blinks.
I'm not trying to be an ***, but if you want, I'd be more than happy to send you a copy of the Superchips pdf file I have saved that covers all the Ford codes, which includes transmission codes. It's a 20 page pdf file.

Instead, it's "yep, you have an issue, go to the dealer."
I never suggested the dealership. I suggested finding someone with a code reader than can read trans codes (like AE can) or paying a shop to do it.

I think that sort of help would be much more valuable than random conjecture
Ummm, random conjecture is what you did, not us. We told him to get the code scanned so we can offer proper help.

Guessing at the problem doesn't help. Reading the code does.

If these trucks and motors and transmissions are some darn reliable then why assume the problem is 1 of hundreds
There's no assuming going on. He has a problem that set his OD light to flash. So he has a problem that can be one (or more) of a hundred different reasons.

....instead of something a member has already discovered to be "common." I've found no such list of common issues yet.
Exactly. There's no "common" list. That's why he was directed to get the codes read so proper help can be given to him.

Well, it's now pretty well guaranteed that anyone searching for transmission trouble codes on the web is going to find this thread.

I'm really starting to regret buying this Damn thing. It randomly cutoff on me while driving, no warnings, and no codes. Put it in park started up fine then drove fine

You've got a diesel, right? I know nothing of the diesels so I don't know if this helps, but there was just a thread about RFI causing trucks with aftermarket an ICP to cut out.

Shouldn't I have gotten a check engine light if it was a sensor failure though? Its just weird it happened and then started up fine. I drive that way and never had any trouble before... Actually that area is about the same area I was in when I started having trouble with the transmission. o_O

ok i have the code p0763..but now after reading this (ive got a 7.3 now. yay) i might not have a compatible scanner?

how can i check if my scanner actually works with it? doesnt seem that i can clear the codes so i assume that it doesnt work. this leads me to believe that this code might not actually be reading right.

ive googled and it looks like its a shift solenoid C. i do have my 6.8 for parts. i feel like i should pull the solenoid pack and hold it at least.
