Newb here, building an extreme desert machine outta my X
Bought a really MINT X, V-10 (need it light in the desert) and am building somewhere around my 50th custom build...
I was poking around here lookin for some wiring info and thought I'd share as these things are so much fun...
It's about 85% done.... pics to come once finished.
Here's it's brother, started as a F-250 V-10 finished up and now lives with a friend.
Running 54's on military double beadlocks.
The one I'm building now will be all tube frame, no body panels. I like the X much better due to the 44 gal fuel tank as a cube, rather than the long tank under the frame of the truck. In this new build the tank is above, behind the seats (big firewall) with the radiator above it and elec fans. Running through cactus plays hell with radiators, so it got moved to the rear on this new build.
Enjoy... PS, please, no haters... gets old. This truck (pictured) handles great, runs 85 mph on the highway all day long, drove it 1500 miles to Montana. Got 11mpg on the trip. Not bad. Kicks butt off-road. Even though the tires/rim combo weighs 550lb ea, the total truck weight was only 7200 lbs. A lot less that a stock truck.. It patrolled along the US/Mex border which is a high crime area... enough said on that
I don't have any pics posted up onto my site for the X currently under construction, but it's really a nasty machine... lovin it. Took it for the first ride through the desert, doing 110mph on gps... real smooth... much lighter than the last one.

Damn........ I wish in my wildest dreams that I could not only own something like that, but have the skill, time, and money to build one myself. I think you just gave me a retirement plan.
