needing advice.

Ok guys just bought a 08 CCSB 53,00 miles.
So what has happened is I drove the truck 2 days (113 miles) and it quit going down the high, i had it towed to my ford garage. They pulled it in and found 0 PSI at the HPFP. Now they then explained that the truck had a HPFP installed less then 8 months ago, and only 17,000 MI. Also he said that ford makes the dealers replace the fuel rails and injectors and some other parts as well. The previous Dealer only did the HPFP? now they said they wanted me to confirm that I would pay $1200.00 for them to pull the cab and check the pump for debris. if none was found then ford will cover it if some is found i'm screwed is basically what they said. i would only be out the 1,200 if it's not covered.
So my questions are
1. why would 2 HPFP go out within a year.
2. Why would the other dealer not replace the parts that ford directly tells them to replace and only do the pump.
3. What do think the odds are this thing will be covered under warranty?
4. Would you guys sell the truck as soon as i get it fixed. I love the truck but i don't understand why it's chewing up HPFP?

Thanks

They are concerned about water contamination. If there is water then your insurance will cover it.

Strange to go out at 17K.

If the pump went bad then I can see them only replacing the part needed. Just because a hpfp goes bad does not mean contamination.

I would assume it would be warranty considering the repair is less then 1 year unless water is found in the system.

If warranty dos not there is a chance that they could fund it out of the customer satisfaction program/good will or what every they call it now fund or at least pay a good chunk considering how close the repairs are. Just make sure to tell them you have driven fords all your life....worth a shot at the very least

So how would my insurance cover it? I have full coverage on the truck, but what would it be covered under?

Comprehensive coverage minus any deductible.

But you not even have an issue with water.
