Put this on Superduty Forum a few days ago. No relpies
I have F350 superduty Super cab. Power door lock sylenoids are weak. Usually can hear them thump when you hit the switch but not enuff "umph" to push up the lock. I have lubed it from one end to the other.
Any experience here??
I have a 2000 Crew Cab and all 4 door locks were doing the same thing. I talked to the dealer and they quoted me $800.00 to fix them. I even Emailed Ford about how ridiculous it was for all 4 of them to go bad within 3 years - they never replied. Yesterday I purchased all 4 activators for around $46 each and installed them in about 3 hours. If you search all forums for "window locks" in the last 6 months, there's some pretty detailed instructions to help you.
I had the same problem on a used 2000 F250 SD Crew Cab that I just purchased. The dealer replaced them for me as part of their "Used Car Warranty". After replacing them, all of the doors unlock very well. I just hope that the new ones last longer than the original ones did.
