I know several people have talked about this subject. I am curious to learn if there are any complaints, or compliments, of Crew Cab versus Supercab in the newer models. I have just ordered a Supercab F350, SRW, 4x4, LB with prep and fifth wheel hitch, along with sprayed in liner. I still have a couple of months before the truck is built (military overseas program), and am really still drawn to the Crewcab. The only downside I've heard on here is the ride seems to be considerably rougher due to the extra length. If that is the only downside I may switch. Thanks in advance!

I love my crew cab. Yes it's slightly longer and on the frwy's here in So Cal, you can get a bouncing pulse while driving on some of these.
Overall, I would think the longer difference in length would help the ride, not hurt it. The same suspension I would expect to see very little difference.
I really enjoy the extra room, putting up the seats and putting down the floor platform, to carry stuff when not passengers.
Granted, I do have a daily driver for running around town as the length can be challenging in smaller parking lots but you just learn to park out on the extremities when necessary. Need the exercise too.
The long bed is also a good choice in my opinion. Love it for 5th wheel towing.
My 350 CC rides smooth as butter. Replace the factory <garbage> shocks. BUT, if I didn't have 4 kids, I'd have gone back to the SC LB combo (may favorite configuration) in the new truck in a heartbeat...
I have a SC and with two kids I wish I would have gone CC. I don't have anybody in my truck very often, but wen I do I really regret not getting a CC. Even if it was just myself and the misses, I would get a CC. Next truck CC LB fo sho
Pretty good stuff. So far it looks like everyone prefers the CC. Have any of you gotten the realpower generator? Not something needed....unless it's needed. Next is, does it make sense to get the step tailgate? It seems like well be using a modified tailgate most of the time as we'll be traveling with a 39lev raptor on the back. Also, I think it'll be a good idea to get the up fitter switches.

I like the idea of the realpower, but in all honesty the newer trucks (at least the 6.0's) are not the biggest fans of idling. It cokes up the EGR from I have been told.
I was thinking the high idle mod could fix that. Or perhaps, since it comes off the PTO, I would suspect that with a 50 percent load on the gen, it would tax the engine enough....dunno, looking for input from all the experienced people...all new to me. I just want to be able to hit the ground running in September.
I've had supercab Fords since 1994. My first Crewcab was the 2012. Wish I decided sooner to go the other way! Not much difference other than more room inside. Although my back doors now open like the front doors. My supercab back doors opened in the other direction. Don't know if they do that now, but I'm sure other guys will chime in here an tell u how u how awkward it gets when ur in a tight parking spot and you hafta open both doors lol! Good luck Reallyoldnavy.

Yes, but those back doors opening from the front sure gives you lots of privacy if you need to get out in a hurry after many cups of coffee.
I know you SC guys like that feature. I liked it when borrowing my brothers F-250 a few years back before Flowmax.

The tailgate step is nice, the pole gets in the way if you ask me. You can't easily drag things in and out of the truck without banging into that thing.
Definitely get the upfitters. You never know when you'll want add a powered accy to the truck, and they make it easy to wire up.
don't know about a LB, but a CC SB makes it impossible to see the ball when hooking up to a gooseneck trailer. SC's don't seem to have this problem, as the rear window is so much closer to the front seat you can see the bed better.
perhaps in a long box the ball would be far enough from the backwall of the cab to see it, IDK.
wouldn't be a problem with a 5th wheel as the plate sits plenty high.
Ive had both so i can compare. Crew cab FTW. I have 0 complaints about the crew cab. The super cab always had rattling doors, a completely useless back seat, and i just like the look of a crew cab better. it also rides soo much better as a cre cab long bed vs super cab short bed
Once you go Crew Cab, you'll never go back. Believe me. It's just me and my wife and dog (and an occasional son and grandkids), but I will not go without the extra room of the CC again. Ever.

gotta be one in every crowd, right?
I don't have any problems hooking up the gooseneck with my pickup.
I wouldn't have a SD any other way than as a crew cab.
