Doing front ujoints, what else should I check?

'04 f250 5.4L 122K miles. all ball joints were done maybe 15K ago and pads and rotors just before that. What ujoints are the better ones? I know to replace the dust seal, the large seal next to the ujoint, and the yellow seal. what else? thanks

I always switch to greasable when available. I think its stupid they aren't greaseable from the factory, but I digress.

I used napa greaseable. Since your ball joints are new other then the knuckle and dust seals you mentioned.....grease your wheel bearings through the abs hole.grease the caliper slide pins. Inspect outer axle stub shaft and replace needle bearings. Make something up to clean out the axle shaft tube prior to reinstall, and replace yellow wheel bearing oring and black 4x4 hub oring. Mine as well service/grease the 4x4 hub while its out. I just did this repair last year. Enjoy

well snow is coming and I DON"T want to get stuck with broken ujoints trying to plow snow. One side is really worn - getting a good vibration when turning from a parking spot or out of the driveway. was told this should fix this. think I'll change the diff fluid also. I'm sure it's original. Putting in Royal Purple like the rear.

yeah, mine are still tight, and I don't plow. I just know I am coming up on ball joints pretty and I have, for better or worse, a very "while I am in here" attitude..If I already have it torn apart, everything will get replaced. I think I am gonna throw a Spartan locker up front too.

Non-greasable have some advantages and you can buy them both ways.
