6.2 compatability

6.2 compatability
I was just wondering if the 6.2 was still a member of the long standing modular family? I know its an overhead cam motor and all that but is this actually a new motor or a hopped up 5.4?
Also why did ford go back to a 2v head Instead of keeping the 3v or just use the 4v like they should have done and saved the money on R&D.

Thanks.Ii would love to own one. I love the 5.4 so I'm sure I will like the 6.2. I have 2 more years of payments on my truck and then ill look at a new one. I just really don't like the current body so I think ill wait a few years to see what comes next
