310 hp@ 5.4 . 10 more hp.
Lets take it easy. Lets compare our f 150 top of the line 5.4 vs
Toyo 4.7
Chevy 4.8
dodge 4.7
titan V6
That will be the only way to be ahead of the competition.
These numbers are nothing more than guesses. It has been stated on this forum time and time again. Motor trend, as well as any of us are allowed to make a guess. Until it comes from Ford it is nothing more.
Truthfully i think Ford has something up their sleeve and are waiting to release the numbers because maybe they havent finished the power-train yet. But you would think that if these things are gonna be on dealer lots by September then they would be darn close to being done with revamping the 5.4l

unlike Dodge, who basically gave away all its information for their new truck, Ford is going to give away information slowly so the interest in the truck stays there.
so yes they have a lot up their sleves and it all isn't just HP and TQ

I agree. If they list their HP and torque ratings early, the competition may "finagle" the numbers to show a slightly higher rating then Ford. After all, that's what Ford with their tow ratings.
Besides, if they published the ratings now, what would we talk about. The new truck would be very old news by the time it is available. This keeps a buzz going.
As with many things, the anticipitation is better than getting what we are chasing.
Ive already heard from a ford buddy the 5.4 has been bumped up to 380 hp and over 410 lb ft tq. Hes also been hearing the 6.2 will have around 450+ hp. So yeh thats a little more then 10 hp. anyone who listens to motortrend doesnt deserve to drive a truck.

That sounds very promising! How credible is your buddy's information though, those numbers seem much more optimistic than most projections.
I would guess that is more likely than the 10hp improvement. Motor Trend is always full of crap. Ford mst be planning on some big suprise becasue they are keeping it closely gaurded. If they were close to the same they probably would have already anounced it. Theres no need to give Toyota a early notice that their Tundra is going to get an a$$ whooping in a major way. Hmm, a truck by Ford that has more tq, similar hp but an interior that would make their Lexus department drool, better handling, features that Toyata coldnt dream up even on a good day and looks that dont make you lose your lunch.
