I was wondering if anyone uses a winter grill cover? Does the truck warm up faster in winter weather? Are there any benefits with having one? Was wondering before I waste my time and money to make if there is no benefit in having one.
I just bought one.. I think brand is kia. It came with mesh and winter cover.. Attaches by a stick a stud thing. Not sure how much I paid for it but I think it was around 50 bucks
I thought about installing one even though I live in SOCAL. Truck runs too cold most of time in the winter months (50 degrees) and my tranny temps never get above 120 or so. Could go old school and just slide a piece of cardboard in there like we did years ago in WY. I know some guys also pull off their fan in the winter but I have not tried that one yet.
I was gonna mention pulling the fan if you don't pull heavy but keep the fan in the truck if something comes up.
I've never had a problem with my truck warming up. I only let it idle for a couple of mins. If you think about it when it's 10℉ outside most of us let the truck warm up for 10 mins or so, by then the truck is just about up to operating temps. When it's 70℉ outside most of us jump in and go... Correct? So that 60degree difference we allow roughly 8-9 mins for the truck to warm up that 60℉??? There goes the fuel mileage, but you'll have a warm truck. If it were me I would just let it go because you're taking away from important coolers by blocking it off like the intercooler.

I drove 10 miles yesterday before it was up to temperature. I have a grill cover somewhere in this house but I can't seem to find it, Maybe next winter
I would think your thermostat needs replaced,if it takes 10 miles to bring to temperature, mine dont take near that long even at single digit temps.do you still have a ebpv valve still hooked up.

I think we must have different opinions on what warmed up means. I don't consider it warmed up when it blows heat.
