To me it seems like if you are wanting to put a little extra bass and use the console then you can achieve that with a free air sub. If you want something that really thumps then you are going to need more air and space to let the sub breathe. you might be able to look into a free air sub that can run 500 watts and it could surprise you.
I have Wetsounds stereo in my boat and i have a WS 10" Free Air sub. It requires no box or anything just a mounting location. IDK if that would fit in the console, bbut this might offer an option for you.
