2002 F-350 7.3
Had a front idler go 120 kms in the bush tonight, it was dark so I couldn't really tell what I need to fix it?

From what I could see there are 2 of them side by side?

Can I just replace one or are they a pair on the same bracket?

Any special tools or knowledge needed to change it out?

Did it look like this? This is the belt tentioner.

One 13mm bolt and you are good to go.

The 2 pulleys together are on the belt tensioner assembly. I replaced the whole assembly on mine. One bolt in the center and off it comes.

Remember, your emergency brake is completely independent of your service brakes (which should work even if you loose power steering/brakes). But should you lose service brakes all together you can still mash that emergency brake. It wont do much, but its better than nothing. Once speeds get down enough, you can down shift. locking out OD can also help.
