Belt Problem!!!

My buddy was changing his serp belt on his truck and instead of using the tool he pulled off the bolt. Now we can't get the tensioner back on. Is there any way to do this? Would it help to get the tool now or is it too late? It's important, he needs to drive tomorrow. Thanks!

He removed the bolt that holds the tensioner assembly to the bracket or the tensioner pulley to the tensioner arm?

I used to use either a pry bar or a socket on the tensioner pulley bolt.
