All my dash gauges and lights just stoped working no miles or nothing no light when you crank it up. What caused this? Relay fuse? I'm on road now trying to fix it please help. 2003 f250 4x4 6.0 auto
If your head lights work but no dash and no tail lights it's a fuse. Not sure where the location is but hopefully you still have your owners manual. That will tell you where the fuse is located.
Headlights work taillights work all dash lights work just no gauges no transmission light on the shifter nothing all fuses and relays look good I have no number 45 fuse
I have not come across this on my truck but have heard of it before. I'm going to do a little research before I dive in and start telling false info, in the meantime hopefully someone that has been in this situation can chime in.
I hope so I want to checke everything befor I start taking the dash panel out. It seems that since the 4 wd switch is not working then its not the gauge cluster
Google "GEM" and your year F250. Windshield leaks causing electrical problems due to the GEM getting wet are reported often. IIRC, the 4WD was controlled by the GEM that year. Some years it had it's own module.
The GEM is programmed to control the options on your vehicle, so you can only do a direct swap with a one from a similarly equipped F250/350. Or so I have read. Otherwise, it takes the right equipment to reprogram ("flash") it.
Thanks for all the help. It was a loose wire in the plug going to the fuse number 45 which after the post I found once I fixed that it is working I still think I may have a short in my shifter will check all that tomorrow.
Thanks to all. I have had the same ford f150 since 01 and just bought this 250 about a month ago and its my first diesel so trying to figure it all out
The Diesels are an entirely different kind of beast, intimidating at first but gets easy. I personally enjoy it… until I need it, or it's something I don't want replace… Ok I take it back, I enjoy doing FUN mods!
