I was hoping some of the other guys would have a take on this, what ever you do don't throw parts at it until we know for sure, Did you save any of the codes that were thrown we really need those to have a good Idea.
I take it i need some special test equipment. Sounds like i might need to take it into the shop. I ordered a bluetooth logger/obd. It sounds like that's what I need.
most of us use a Scan Gauge II from Auto zone, around 160.00 you can get it cheeper on line ,theres dash boss and other types but I don't really know to much about them , the Gauge is a must to a healthy 6.0 to monitor EOT ECT and all the sensers , live data, boost, temps so on
The Lodgic Power Worries me seen a couple Bad Relays but other then that Your Inline for a New FICM
Ed at www.ficmrepair.com is the Man to do this for ya He can Also sell ya a DC Power High Output alternator
Our OEM Alternators are Under powered
so All of Those Folks that take Precaughtionary steps here Get there electronics and Batterys to Last a lot Longer
Just have a Cheap Code reader?? Can you Post Both Codes Please
You can test a lot with a Multimeter but there is No room for Error you kinda need wire diagrams ect.. to make shure your testing the right wires
You installed New batterys Right??
But once you get a Gauge we can check it Over and there is Other gauges out there ScanGauge is Fast to get is ALL and does a Decent Job if you have more Time there are Other Options out there Like DashBoss
Here is DASHBOSS its Better then SGII But either one will work for this http://www.dashboss.com/
But keep in mind when Someone comes here and says I have ALL 8 Injector Low Code that is about a 95% chance FICM is Bad But I would like to see a Couple other readings First if it were Me!!
If you read through the TSB I posted the link to, it basically says to check the charging system then verify voltages (with a meter) on specific pins in the FICM plug and if all that is ok, repair/replace FICM. I think a Scangauge/DashBoss or similar is a great idea but I don't know anything you can do with one to diagnose issues on the logic side of the FICM except see if it is syncing.
I read the tsb. I'll have to check it out today when I tear it apart. Today is a holiday so maybe not.
Happy Veterans Day to any of yall and myself.
I think the ficm replacement is looking to be right. I would to double check because I would be pretty upset if I ordered it and it kept throwing codes.
It sounds like everyone agrees that it's the ficm.
