so one night I passed out in my truck and for some reason I kicked out my window . my mirror was already broken and the inside door handle was broke too. so I decided to just swap in a new/old door. well it didn't fit right at all so I put all the parts to the original. now the original wont fit. ITS DRIVING ME NUTS TAKING IT ON AND OFF, ON AND OFF TRYING TO LINE IT UP .
does anyone have some tips or know of a thread that already talks about this?
Evan, that is the most concise set of instructions for adjusting a door that I have seen. Thanks for posting the link.
There are a few additional points I will offer:
1. Have a mechanically inclined helper.
2. Hinge repair kits (replacement pins mostly) are cheap in the repair aisle of most auto parts stores.
3. A 2x4 used gently works as a soft prybar for supporting and encouraging the door to move.
4. The nut plates on my first 95 were not captive, if you don't have a five year old handy to retrieve them, be careful of letting them fall.
