6.0 Intercooler

Well its yet another issue of money but we all have needs! I am not willing to spend the money for Banks intercooler kit... From what I have learned I can use an I/C from a 6.0 and it will do the job. That isn't the issue though, what do I use as piping and boots? and then what about a spyder because everyone is saying theyre impossible to find anymore!! Any input would of much help. Any links to piping or boots would be awesome. Thanks guys, I just need to make sure I have everything and know what im getting myself into before I start!

This thread will have almost everything you need regarding the conversion...Very easy to do all things considered. If you have any questions I can help. I went a bit different in my route with the 3" plenums, but you could do your own y pipe fabbing since it is a very simple piece to make. I wouldn't mess with even paying for a pre 99.5 x pipe. Fab your own!

Thread is here with pictures: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...options-4.html

This is what I had into mine... Performs just as well if not better than my brothers truck with a banks unit.

75$ for 6.0 Ic off craigslist
25$(I think) for the spyder
120$ for the 3" plenums with Riff Raff billet inserts
70$ for the tubing and bends
Boots were around a 100$ I think.

All in all for around 400 give or take a little I has an IC setup and plenum conversion... In my mind it performs just as well as a Banks kit if not better and is a fourth the cost!

So from what ive seen I should just buy like 3ft of 3'' silicone boots and cut them myself? also im kinda confused on the plenums. If I replace them ive heard its a PITA, so do they make a big difference? And as the spyder is concerned, should I just fab my own?
