True, but the brake pedal switch is either on or off. It simply tells the controller "yes I'm braking" or "no I'm not". It does nothing else to tell the controller how hard you are braking.
The "how hard am I braking" is what the transducer does at the master cylinder. Perhaps the way I pick up a slight edge with the G2. I normally run a 25% boost that kicks in as soon as my foot is on the brake pedal. That is not enough to do any jerking with a trailer of any size, but I already have it awake if I need more. Not sure. :?

The first time I towed with the IBC in my truck I was hooked. I've yet to have any problems with my brake controller other than a somewhat flaky 7 pin on the truck side at the rear.
I believe that they interface with the ABS as well?
I didn't mind the Prodigy that I had used with an Expedition before but the IBC sure is nice.

It does interface. Have you ever had call to use it when the ABS is active?
thats odd Tom, there have been numerious times where i had a skid steer on my trailer and then unloaded it and then loaded a small tractor or a load of wood and i forgot to turn the boost and power level back down. At the first red light i would barely touch the brake pedal and the trailer brakes lock up skid and almost throw me through my windshield. Mark me down as keep the Prodigy!

The overwhelming majority of the time this was my experience as well, I really liked my prodigy controllers for the most part. But there was a couple times for some reason I needed lots of braking and the Prodigy wouldn't ramp up to full power. Since it happened with both of them I figured it was nature of the beast.

Don't get me wrong if I could afford a truck new enough to have a IBC I would definitely use it instead of the Prodigy, Maybe I just have new truck envy Tom..
