Maybe it sounds like an odd question, but our EX dont lock itself
automatically after driving faster than some mph.
I know it from a Dodge Caravan, Chrysler Voyager and my two previous Dodge
Rams. Yeah, I know......Dodge Ram......
Is my auto-lock disabled or is there even none?
Please let me know guys........
This didn't work for my 04, I had to do an extra step, and honestly I don't recall what it was, but whatever it was it was stupid simple. This SHOULD work for yours.
My '05 had it and I disabled it. The procedure was close to what is in the video above.
Here is an idea though. We had a batch of new Crown Vics come to our department one year with every bell, chime and whistle still enabled on them. (About 27 new cars total) Ford is supposed to disable ALL of that monkey business on police package cars (at least they used to). There was a group of us who had to get on the web and pull down the instructions and go and disable all of that stuff on all of the cars we just got. If you can't find Excursion-specific instructions, I'll bet the same instructions for the Crown Vics would work.
You're kidding! Wow, I'm glad you posted before I did because I was gonna tell Mike the 2000's don't have that capability.
Mine doesn't and I didn't think any MY2000 did.

well now you have me wondering if it was the remote start/alarm i had in the truck giving the auto lock feature. If the truck was still able to move i would check it out for sure. i seem to remember it working before i had the system put in...hmm
know for a fact the explorers have done it since at least 94, all expeditions, any decent trim level f-150.
i remember my grandmas '91 chrysler new yorker having this feature also, first car i recall having it when i was a kid.

Yup, my '94 Crown Vic had it, and so did my '89 Cougar. That's why I was surprised when my Ex didn't have it. It was one of the first things I tried to enable after I bought it, figuring the previous owner disabled it.
i cant remember if it was my explorer or my excursion that had this feature... either way i got rid of it fast!
the chevy work trucks had this feature but pulling the door handle on any door wouldnt unlock it or open until you hit the switch... I HATED it. called them abduction trucks.
i honestly dont see the point in this except for little kids who may be pulling and prying on anything within reach.

the ford set-up is much better as the door will open when you pull the handle from inside. i also hate the chevys!
the point of this feature is to help you from being carjacked, somebody jumping in your car at a stop light...ect drive to the wrong part of town and have to stop at a light late at night..ect i love the feature and its nice to have.
i out of habit hit the unlock button anytime i get out of the truck so i don't get out and have to deal with locked doors.
My 2000 doesn't have it and I'm glad it doesn't, I am not a fan of those kind of things. I want my doors locked I will freaking push the button; don't want my truck deciding for me.
