My 2001 F150 had it and it also unlocked the doors when I put it in park. Found out how to turn it on in my 2002 Ex and it worked untile I put it in park. Doors stayed locked so I turned it back off.
Thankfully, with the keypad, i no longer worry about locking myself out. I like the ford vs gm way, you can open ours w/o unlocking first.
Auto unlock on park is not needed.
Now, a keypad on the pass door would be handy with engine running i go around to open the door for wife, or load up, and the @#$% door is locked, go back to driver door punch in code plus 3 to unlock all doors and go back...
You did know, keycode followed by a 3 unlocks all doors right?
Thanks guys for your advice and help.....though Im a bit dissapointed.
I actually agree with Christina, but I always forget to lock it manuel, even sometimes in my 18wheeler over night.
So this feature was made for
stupid idiots like me and...yes,I miss it.
Anyway......
hell my grandpas old 94 ford explorer had it! every ford i've owned(besides my '91 f-150) has had it and i love it.
I'm thinking that may be an add-on. My 2000 Limited stock doesn't have that feature...and the sequence to turn it on/off doesn't work (the key on, lock button, etc.).

i noted in one of my replies that i had a remote start/alarm installed soon after buying it, so thats probably where it came from.
I just wish the darn things would unlock automatically when I stop or put it in Park. I am always retrieving something from the back or passenger side and I forgot to unlock the doors when I got out. I know first world problem.
