I have a 04 F150 FX4 Supercrew I just replaced my The stock Headunit with JVC KD-R540 CD receiver at Crutchfield.com
I Told them no factory amp. I installed the new Head unit to find the old head unit had 3 plugs. So i looked closer under the back seat and have the Wire harness for a Factory sub/amp.
The reason I am doing a Upgrade on audio was There was almost NO bass what so ever in the truck. What should be my next step. Should i get the factory Sub/amp Or get the Kicker Hideaway. I do not want alot of bass at all. I am going to upgrade the speakers to Kicker 40CSS684 6"x8" component speaker system at Crutchfield.com Need suggestions on what to do.
I am just not sure what i should do. Get the OEM amp/sub and just do speakers or should i do Speakers and The Hideaway?
The kicker speakers are gonna give you a lot of mid range loud. Not much low end and not much high end. You'd be better off with a set of Rockford fosgate. I sell and install car audio and have heard them side by side and the rockfords sound the best. As for the sub, kicker would probably be your best bang for your buck. I wouldn't bother with the factory amp, you can't adjust anything on them.
