My 90 f150 4x4 has automatic lockouts. It has all new parts (both sides) and still no front end pull. The front d/shaft is pulling when engaged. I have followed the book twice and no locking front end. I would really like to put manual locking hubs on it if its going to cost another penny to fix the autos. What parts do i need to change to convert to manual? Any advice will be appricated.
PS: I just sold my auto hubs on eBay for around $150, so you can probably get most of your money back. Not really sure if that's what they always go for, because two guys got to bidding against each other. Good luck.
but if you buy the hubs separate, then the "conversion kit" that the manufacturers want to charge you $50+ for is really just the adjusting and lock nuts and lock ring that's used on any factory manual hubs. The JBG kit is really a good deal, but if I only had hubs and not the right nuts/lockring, then I'd just go to the yard and get them.

Looks like I need to clean up my old auto hubs and get them up on eBay...
I just changed out my auto hubs this past weekend and didn't need the conversion kit. It depends on what size front end you have. I followed that direction from several people on here and now have to return the kit to Amazon. My truck is a 97 F250HD with the Dana 50 front auto hubs that didn't work. I changed them out to the ones that dixie460 put up in the link above. Install took total of 30 minutes.
