NZ is a fantastic country. I spent some time going from Auckland, down to Hawke's Bay (saw the thermal springs at Wairakei), then up to the Bay of Islands... where we rented a sail boat and hung out with dolphins for a few days. I saw some fantastic scenery while I was there and the people are as friendly as one could wish for. I couldn't get into the beet burger, but you guys are serious about coffee... and that works for me.
I also learned that when the windshield wipers go on without an obvious reason, the driver is used to driving on the other side of the car... not that it happened to me.
We are busy seeing NZ at the moment as F truck tows the hut for me and the bride , clean the windows, know the feeling , do it every time I drive a Jappa
Will have to learn how to record a session on the AE so ya can tell me if all is good with the 7.3 . Have to go to AE school and do some research first Brownie
The AE has a slightly shorter intensifier piston which makes it begin the prime shot a bit sooner than the rest. It's such a small difference that it's hard to believe Ford thought it would have any benefit...yet they dropped them in some engines anyway.
Unless you know the history of your truck, then I would leave that injector in the #2 spot and keep trucking along. It's entirely possible the intensifier piston has been changed during a previous rebuilt or replacement anyway. The solenoid itself is exactly the same as an AD pack so nobody really knows what you have in there except for perhaps the previous owner (and even he/she may be clueless as well...).
Is all up and go again , took a couple of nz 20Cent coins to do the mod , decided to leave injector where it is been happy for a while , just fired her up , started much quicker with new GP's ,Changed all filters and oil in engine, rear diff, fitted new ICP which has stopped the hunting and appears to have given it a few more horses, took for a run down the road and all is good
Thanks for the help Brownie
