HEAD GASKET Replace help

Can anyone out there help with tips on removeing & replacing the head gasket on a 02 Explorer XLT.
Any tips, photo's, or instructions greatly appreciated.
I have the manual, it says to pull the engine, I'm hoping to find someone out there who's been able to do it w/o pulling the engine.
Thansk in advance.

I'm fairly certain you have to yank the motor. Do you have a 4.6 or a 5.4? Either way, it will be infinitely easier with the motor out.

Head Gasket

4.6L. I've seen some U-Tube videos on a Crown Vic, & it was done while in the car

The biggest issue I see you having is that the head bolts are so long and it may not clear the engine bay. Obviously the shorter deck height of a 4.6 will help a little with that.

Good point, I will see if I can guess-ta-mate if they will clear.

Thanks
