Wiring problem with 87 Ranger

I have a wire that i think belongs to my Cruise control and I can't find out were it connects. It is dark blue/green stripe. It is in a wiring bundle with the oil sending wires ( two wires blk/w and y/o ).
I also get a code ....no sig from clutch neutral switch.
I just got done putting new heads on my little 2.9 and can't wait to use this as my daily drive. These two wiring issues are keeping my truck from running well enough to drive.
Thankx in advance for any and all help.

The darkblue/green stripe. Does that go to the float switch in the oil pan? I don't see anything related to the cruise, but if your clutch switch is not working, the cruise is not going to work either.

The clutch/neutral error should not make it not driveable. I disconnected mine on my 86 with 2.9/5 speed. It still ran the same way(rough unstable idle).

A float switch in the oil pan...never heard of it...could you please offer more information?
The engine runs with the neutral clutch not sending a signal to the computer, as a mater of fact when I was using a remote started so set my base timing the engine started right up....surprised me!! Glad I had my manual trany in neutral...hahaha,,,,,,But the clutch switch serves double duty in that it will shut off the cruise control when depressed. I really depend on my cruise control since an episode of frostbite in my right foot while duck hunting.

The diagram shows it, though I guess it could be an option. It tells you when your oil is low in the engine. Most newer cars and trucks are coming with it standard now. The old way of doing it was with a oil pressure switch and a light or a gauge. By the time the light came on or you noticed the gauge not reading, damage was already done. It usually looks like a nut with a hole in it in the side of the oil pan with two wires coming out of the center of the nut.

With the cruise, what I would do is get under the dash and pull the switch out. The two cruise control wires are the light green ones. I would cut them and twist them together. I would also get the two red/blue wires and twist them together also, they go to the starter solenoid.

Yes, it will then crank over with the clutch out. Also when the cruise is activated and you decide to push in on the clutch, the engine will rev way up. But this is all dummy proof stuff that most people don't need, and if something doesn't work and is not really needed, I get rid of it to avoid problems.

You can take the high road and try to find a replacement and try to fix it right, but I have never tried so i don't know how hard it's going to be to find a new one. They are known for going bad.

Since you mentioned a code, I thought you were talking about the switch on top of the tranny near the shifter that tells the computer if the gear lever is in neutral. That's one i disconnected.
