Block heater

Prob asked and answered before - but here goes. Recently bought 2000 f250 superduty L7.3. Anyone know how many amps the block heater draws? Thanks in advance.

I measured the power consumed on my '11 6.2L and it was 610 watts, or about 5 amps. Don't know about your 2000.

Less than a standard 15 amp house breaker. Make sure you use a grounded 12ga extension cord and a grounded outlet, my cousin put a three to two prong on his garage outlet and something shorted one night, he lost his truck garage ATV duck boat tools EVERYTHING in the fire

I measured the one on my 2011 F350 at 900 watts.

7.3 is 1000 watts.

Let's just post the wattage of all the Ford diesel block heaters too even though the PO only asked about the 7.3 LOL

The heater in my 6.0 is "rated" at 1000w, but only draws about 915 according to my kill-a-watt meter....
