Steering shaft and worm (3524) is a one piece assembly, goes directly into the gearbox.

I know this post is 3+ months old, but I just came across this same situation this week - bought a column, but new front end will be power steering.
I guess my question for you is "what did you do to connect the old column to the power steering after removing the box"?
I have the box somewhat apart, the wheel off, but have not removed the shaft/worm yet, as I was not sure what stays and what goes off this older unit. Any advice is most welcome

Thx...
You'll have to get a u joint of some sort. Cut the worm off and put the u joint in it's place. CPP, No Limit, etc. will have what you need. You'll also need to get a piece to go between the u joint and the front end. And then prolly another u joint. I'm not sure, but I think you'll also need something to hold the column in place.
