Was thinking of pulling my fuel tank today to clean the two little filters inside depending on my fuel pressure check I am going to do. Am I going to need to drain any fuel or anything. And am I really pulling the whole tank off. Any help is appreciated. Thanks again

It is best to drop the tank when you are below 1/4 tank so it is easier to handle, and you need to drop the tank down so you can get the pick-up/sender out of the tank. You can remove the fuel pump discharge line and put a piece of rubber hose on the pump discharge nipple and run it into a bucket and cycle the key on and off a few times to get the remainder of the fuel out.
There is a vid on you tube by diesel tech Ron and it shows a low fuel pressure and lack of power he pulled the tank and cleaned two filters. If you would look at the video and let me know what u think that would be great
Low fuel pressure can be caused by restricted fuel filters, weak fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator spring and/or seal. If the filters are good, I would service the regulator with a blue spring kit, then recheck the pressure. If it is still not 45 psi or higher, then you most likely have a bad frame mounted pump (HFCM).
Just replaced fuel filters. Not having any symptoms really just was looking at clearing up any restrictions. I need to get a gauge to read the psi I am thinking autozone would be best.
The only way to know if you have low fuel pressue, is to install a fuel pressure gauge. You will need a M12x1.5 to 1/8"NPT adapter or adapter hose at the regulator, as the regulator port is metric and most gauges are 1/8".
Here's a good write up by Texestech diesel on installing a fuel pressure gauge.
