I am looking for a new set of shocks all the way around for the 1988 F350 in my sig. The ones I have now are shot and I discovered a few days ago the front ones are mismatched. One is blue and the other isn't, go figure. I use this truck often and need something smooth on pavement but strong enough to handle pulling trailers and hauling home more project trucks.
I have heard good things about Rancho, but I want to hear from the guys that have been there and done that.
I have Gabriel Gas Ryder VST's in our F250. Nitrogen charged and provide a smooth ride. I'd recommend them to anyone. They aren't too expensive and I've had some very heavy loads to the point of being unsafe and they held up fantastically.
I couldnt find much info when I was looking. I got some monroe sensa-trac for $19 each at rock auto. I wanted the bilstein until I read a number of reviews where they were sub standard in this application; usually they are top performers.
Rancho and Monroe seem to be the same company with the same special. I couldn't get over putting Rancho on a 2wd.

Rancho and Monroe fall under Tenneco. But we make different shocks/valving etc. But save your receipt!!!!!!!
Installed the sensa-trac and they are much better then expected for the ~$25 each they cost. I'll put the receipt in safe keeping, they claim a life time warranty but I hate parts that dont last.
I have the rancho RS 9000 adjustable shocks in my 95. also used them in a old K5 blazer. They work as advertised but with out the in cab controller I doubt you would ever change them once you had them how you liked. I only change mine when it comes time to mount the plow but for this reason they rock...
