Front Differential Questions?

Front Differential Questions?
So I ordered most of the stuff to do the front ball joints and u joints on my 03' Excursion. I have a few questions.
1) is there suppose to be bearings at the end of the axle tubes?
2) I did not have bearings between the washers after the snap ring. I had 2 metal washers that sandwiched a plastic washer. Is this right?
3) Who designed that awful hub seal that coast so much? That thing was a pain! For anyone that has issues with pulling the axles lube up the seal at the knuckle. I lubed it up with some penetrating oil and it finally slid out.
4) can I buy ABS sensors separate from the hub bearing?
