Heavy towing with mods?
I have been thinking about upgrading my injectors and turbo, but I am not sure on how wild I could go and still tow. I tow anything from a 5x8 trailer to a 28ft dual tandem gooseneck equipment trailer. I have thought about finding a cheap dually to pull the heavy stuff, but I would like to have my cake and eat it too. Is that possible, or am I wanting too much?

Depends on how big you want to go on the sticks and who does the tuning. It's possible for sure.

Here is my advice FWIW:
I was having injector problems and I tow either a open car trailer (22') or a 36.5' 5er that weighs close to 13.5k. I did a lot of research, asked a lot of questions and here is what works for me.
I have a Garrett Power Max, and installed a set of 155's with 30% nozzles, my truck is tuned by Gear Head, I keep it on 8k tow all the time, my EGTS stay in check, boost I have limited to 25 psi, tranny shifts well and the truck has plenty of power without being un reliable. I have had this combo on board now for about 3 years and haven't had any issues.
Im running stock head bolts, still have the EGR valve and coolers, and stock air cleaner I also have a few other mods in my sig as well. All is well, if I keep the truck around 63-65mph I can squeeze about 14mpg hand calculated, pushing it (73-75 mph) I see a drastic drop in fuel mileage.
All in all I am happy with my set up and the truck is very capable of pulling hills with ease no matter what Im pinned up to.
Hope that helps,
Sarge
