My previous EX, had a full system from headers to dual tail pipes.
Headers & y-pipe cost me about 1K plus 7 hours labor
3.5 inch pipes for dual after muffler cost me about 400 installed
Tips cost me 180 for both installed
70 series muffler cost me about 100 installed.
Biggest gain was probably the Y-Pipe...
If your on a budget, I would say just do Y-pipe and muffler.
you're working on my kind of budget...
I'd say change your muffler to a flowmaster 40.. they sound awesome.. $75-100 for the muffler plus 1 hour of labor maybe?

I have an 02 v10 ex, and am wanting to add exhaust so I can make this baby sing. Money is kind of tight, what are my options?
If you have a $100-200 budget and want to do something I would suggest working more towards better performance rather than just increasing sound levels. First and foremost get a new Y-pipe if your Ex has the very restrictive T-pipe that Ford gave some of these rigs, that will improve performance for not too much green. After that if you want a better sound (some would argue that a V-10 will never sound all that good) look into a decent cheaper turbo style muffler like a Dynamax or such.
Which one do you think will flow better?
Get a y pipe and maybe a muffler change like alot here are saying. I would not change anything else as it isnt really noticeable. I have a y pipe and 4" cat back and fell like I lost low end torque.
Best thing for these has been tuner with custom maps. Check out 5star tuning and there a sponsor. V10 forum down below has tons of info.
