See? Now he's got you in his clutches....

I started thinking about getting a 6.0, not too serious about it at all because I had my 7.3 and loved it.

Then after some PM's, phone calls, and some encouragement to not to be such a wuss I started looking, again, not too serious about it...but slightly intrigued.

Some PM's and 2 thread later, I drove home a new to me 2005 Excursion and didn't even realize what had happened

From there I knew what Living Large was talking about becuase I have this huge grin on my face I have yet to wipe off

You have a 3:73 open diff, Time for some 4:30 I would say. If you are going with anything larger than stock tires go 4:56..

I have some OEM 18's now and will more than likely go with some larger tires but nothing huge. So is there a rear end swap I should look for or just swap the gears themselves? Any recommendations on doing it or should I just pay to have it done? Is open LSD or no? Should I/can I afford to get an LSD for it?

Then I would go with the 4:56 , as far as doing it yourself if you haven't done one before than I wouldn't recommend it because it takes a knack. I don't think you will find a rear with that setup so I would just buy the gears somewhere or go with a place like 4wheel parts and they will give you a package deal.

As for the LS you could get a price from them on adding one if you think you need it. If its a pavement princess I would probably leave the diff open..

Gears and a detroit true trac or lsd would be sweet all at once. If i were spending the money with open diff and plan on keeping the excursion I would do both.

Now that i found a way to turbo charged the 5.4l, will the stock injector work or should i get the 24lb or 42lb injector? The turbo is a t3/t4 70mm and im thinking of getting spearco intercooler.

It depends on what the percentage of injectors you will be using. Larger will be better as when youu are using forced induction it will require more air and fuel. Also need to look into how to tune the pcm.

I reccomend starting a new thread so more people will chime in and not get this off topic.
