If you are looking for a towing truck by all means buy a jar and start filling it for a diesel. other than that i personally would prefer a gas truck. theyre easy to work on, and with decent gears they wind up like crazy. 5.4s are a great motor for a mud or sand toy. my stock 5.4 dominated the sand dunes when there were many similar diesels with mods that couldn't make it up test hill at silver lake sand dunes.
Nope, no towing (on a regular basis) but I just want it to be a little less sluggish and a little more "truckly" without just gutting the cat and running 5 inch pipes and a rebel flag (the South lost, get over it) on a pole off the rear bumper.
i have 4.10s with a 5 speed and i love it. plus with the lightnings there are actually alot of after market for these 2v motors. it is not cheap so you its all about what you want out of your truck.
