Tachometer issue resolved
Some of you may recall my previous thread with an "erratic" tachometer.
I took the advice of one of our ford friends and went to the boneyard and found a tach for $10, installed it and all is back to normal.
Interestingly, the tachometer came off a 1989 that was made in Canada?
Thanks to all
Mark
These trucks are getting up there in age, and some of the electronic components are showing it. Solder connections crack after many years of hot/cold/vibration, capacitors leak as they break down, etc.
If you still have your old tach, might be worth taking it apart and inspecting the board. If you can solder, you can probably get the components you need for a couple bucks.
