There must be different gaskets out there. With my gasket (reused by the way), I could not figure any way to get it to install from the outside. It was really tight trying to get the "small" side through the metal, I can't imagine trying to get the large side to the inside.
So it went in from the inside.
Thanks all
Scott
Scott PM answered. Did ya get it to settle in on the bottom.
It looks good in your pic. Any idea how old the gasket is.
Like how long in was in wrong? I think I would just keep working
the gasket down onto the truck. Than try and work the slider down
if ya get any slack in the gasket.
Guys he said he feels it is sitting to high and should come down some.
I can see in his pic where the gasket looks like it can come down some.
If ya pull the gasket as far down as ya can is there an air gap between it and the slider frame?
Can anyone take a pic of there slider like his to compare them?
arctic y, I let it settle for a few days and pushed the frame down. The frame is tight at the corners and makes the frame "ride" a little high. Put some pressure on the top and helped the frame ride in the gasket better. The gasket being 2 years or so old didn't help, I'm sure. The gasket looks right now and the interior covers my new headliner made from the pdf sent to me by Broomfieldbum. Thanks Rich, Randy and all.
Still working on the interior,
Scott
Has anyone used the window from LMC? Just curious as to which one is better.
Thanks,
Richard
The LMC is a CR Lawrence.. you can find it cheaper from CRL or other sources it is all the same window... it is a great window, very nicely made.. High quality all of it..
I got mine from Lawrence directly and it did not come with a gasket. There is a gasket available from them at an extra price, but it was generic as I remember. From what I've read on this forum- Carpenter makes their own gaskets and their quality is better. ( btw - I got some dash gaskets and ***** from LMC and they were marked Carpenter)
comes with the weather stripping? Not sure if I need to buy that separate or not.
The C.R. Laurence from Amazon does not come with the seal..... yes you do have to buy it separately, but many places have them and pretty cheap too... LMC or NPD either one is pretty good..
