Carb ID question

The ID tag on the Motorcraft 2bbl in My '78 is gone, is there another way to ID the carb,so I can get the right kit for it?

According to the Ford parts catalog there are three possibilities.
77-78 F150-250 w/ 351M except w/ calif emissions
Tag D8PE-CVA

77-78 F150-350 w/ 351M except w/ Calif emissions
after s/n Y80,001
Tag D7TE-ATA

78 F150-350 w 351M except w/ Calif emissions
Tag D8PE-ATA

All use the same parts list (37N) and they all use the same carb kit.

Yeah, yours falls after Y80,001. 73-77 the serial numbers were one letter and five numbers. In 78 Ford switched to two letters and four numbers.

I'm having the same issue with my Indy truck, perhaps you could tell me which kit I should use for a mid-year '79, 302/C4/2wd F-150?

My early searches turned up three different possible kits, one of which matched the kit I will need to buy for my '77 with the 400. I was thinking of buying that kit and disassembling both carbs at once to see if I should order another of the same kit, but if not I'd still be looking at a 50/50 shot. Any advice would be appreciated.

I searched the Ford parts catalog and it showed two possibilities. The two carbs use different carb kits. Whether you could actually use the same kit for either carb, I don't know.
The first one is listed as
Carb tag # D9TE-BTB
1979 F100-250 w/ 302 & A/T
Uses parts list 29AW
Carb kit D9PZ-9A586-N Motorcraft # CT-1264

The second is
Carb tag # D7PE-AAA
1977 F100
1977-up F150 w/ 302 & A/T
Uses parts list 29AL
Carb kit D9PZ-9A586-G Motorcraft # CT-1258

Super old thread I know, but I need similar help and it seems that mikeo0o0o0 was on a roll helping everyone else. Someone please help, my tag is gone and I need to order the rebuild kit so I was hoping I could get the list of available carb numbers that would apply to my truck...

79 F250 4x4 351M 4spd ordered in Pittsburgh, PA. I know its the 2150 Motorcraft just need the possible part numbers. Thanks!
