Thermactor questions

What is the Thermactor system, what does it do. Can I remove it, if so how do I remove it and keep stock belts

The system pumps air to the stock cats during engine warmup to help burn off excess hydrocarbons, if the stock cats are gone the system serves no purpose and can be removed but the TAB/TAD solenoids must remain electrically connected. A shorter belt may not be an option on some trucks due to the location of the belt tensioner, in that case you have to use an idler pulley or just leave the pump there as an idler.
