no and i run the fog lights on almost all the time
i got started on mounting the tuff led lights im using for reverse today. I hung 2 off the outside lip of the trailer hitch and then the other 2 i think i am going to mount through factory drilled holes in the bottom of the frame, right near the transfer case. they do hang a little low like that, but not too bad. plus there is a lot of other expensive stuff that could get ripped off before these if im in that bad of a situation. you cant really see them if you are just standing near the truck, only if you are looking under or far away from the truck.
going to the trans siberian orcestra concert now, so wiring will have to resume tomorrow... along with maybe trying to mount that 20" bar somewhere
lots of sun glare but you can kinda see them tucked up there. i like these better than the 2 previous places i had backup lights because they arent as noticeable looking behind the truck
I finished my reverse lights this morning. I cant wait until it gets dark
(this pic is taken from the ground, they are hidden pretty well)
But i now officially have half the light i did 3 hours ago. I removed my factory fogs as well as the cubes i added. I dont have the 14" bar yet so i cant make something to hold the bar and cubes in the bumper opening. I also still dont know where to put the 20" bar, probably just on top of the bumper somehow
Im also looking into my options for a switch panel. I only need 4 or 5 switches total. The F650 dash is a little expensive for me, im not interested in the 05-07 lower dash swap and the 05+ upfitters just dont look factory if you put them in an older truck. I think i have found something that will work, going to look into it a little more
Lights look good. Are you planning on independently wiring the pairs to other switches? Or were you planning on setting then up on relays and having them activated by your backup lights. Since I switched to the recon taillights the backup lights are useless and have been looking for an additional way to mount auxiliary lights.
I dont really feel like wiring relays, nor see the need as my biggest draw at the moment is the 20" bar which is only 8.3 amps. I just bought a few round rocker switches that are rated for 15 amps. All 4 reverse lights are on 1 switch, the 20" bar will be on a switch, the 14" bar will be on a switch and the cubes will be on the factory fog switch
So this idea popped into my head last night and i think im gonna like it. Picture this aluminum plate painted black with 4 or 5 round black rocker switches in it. Took about 10 mins from a scrap piece of aluminum in the basement, a sawzall and a dremel. It is covering the stupid little cubby below my head unit
Finished my switch panel as well. didnt come out as good as i would like, think i am going to start over and use a drill press instead of a cordless drill
I also sold my 20" bar for a 30" lol, stay tuned..

That might output looks good man. I definitely need to look into something for my truck. And the switch panel looks good too. Nice and neat. I would try something like that but my cubby is covered 95% of the time by the screen, plus I have the upfitters
Thanks, the backup lights are great. I went to a dyno day saturday and i guess everyone was asking the guy who put it on for quotes for underbody lighting lol
If you are looking for a bar, Tough Light is having a black friday sale right now. Go to their website and then look at their pro series lights, use coupon code blackfriday and its a pretty good amount off. I believe my 30" was $170 off
Its probably just gonna go on top of the bumper for now, not sure when im going to do the 05 conversion. at which point it will probably go in the grille
Those regular back up lights look really bright!? mind posting a link to them? I cant see didly behind me so hose would be an easy improvement untili get reverse lights.
I'm not sure honestly, I saw the link posted on here a while back but it was an ebay ad. They were 29.99 though and they're cree led projectors and there's also a ring of leds behind the projector closer to the light base
