I haven't had any issues with mine so glad it was something simple. Heard some rumblings that there may be some issues with quality so I'm glad it seems to have worked out for you.

Ok well that wouldn't make me feel very good honestly. That screw also sets the tightness of the box. So by tightening it to stop a leak you are also adjusting it and if it wasn't sloppy just leaking then you may be too tight now. Just not sure tightening that screw (since it's an adjusting screw) is a reasonable solution.

Were you also having some slop in the box along with the leak?

Christina if he holds the allen head bolt while he tightens the other nut he should be ok on the preload, If he doesn't like you said it could be a problem..

But possibly the nut and rod turned originally when loosening up. So just turning the nut and rod while tightening it back up might put it back to its original spot or close to it.

That makes sense, if the nut loosened the rod probably loosened with it.

Yea the leak did stop so good for that When I tightened it back up I was worried it would turn that adjusting rod but luckily it did not turn. The steering did not feel like it changed before or after the leak . It just took around 1 full turn for the leak to stop.

Thats interesting. The stud actually should turn by just turning the nut because the nut should have a poly lock in it.

Maybe it did turn but he didn't see it and it wasn't enough to affect the steering.

I think we should have a panel discussion on it.
