Cheap Topper ideas?

Hey all,
We just got a new truck and mostly I don't like toppers as it makes it hard to use a truck for a truck, however, I like having one around for the summer months when camping.

Any thoughts or ideas about a cheap topper that is easy to remove as it would mostly be off the truck? I was thinking about one of those cheaper looking aluminum ones, but wondering if they would fit.

Thanks for any help.

The aluminum ones aren't easy to install/remove. They weigh a few hundred pounds and are installed with a forklift (I have an ARE DCU on my 09 right now).

I have had an Undercover on my truck since 2005. Works well, is easy to remove and strong. You can walk on it if need be. I thought about buying a Fiberglass truck cap until I saw the $1600 price tag, and that was years ago.

You should be able to find a used one somewhere. If you aren't picky about color, and you are patient, you can get them pretty cheap. I runa black one on mybrown truck, because I got a really good deal on it.

Hey Rob what is your last name? You can PM it to me so you don't have to display it on the forum. I'm just curious

if you go with a dealer who is a larger dealer with storage, some times they will store it for you for like $10 a month. shells plus did that for me. I left it there for months on end and only got billed one month! then they found a buyer for it when I didn't need it any longer for just under what I payed for it.

Welcome to FTE!

Not sure if you have more to talk about, but if you do, we're most pretty open minded around here. As long as you like trucks and you don't insult anyone, it's all one big party.
