Thanks for weighin in, guys. To use what I have I would need either a donor hub with a larger bearing cup, or I need a smaller axle spindle. There needs to be a greater disparity between those two sizes to fit a tapered roller bearing.

I suppose you could have your spindles turned down.
Here is what I have done. I machined a bushing to fit the spindle and the A3 outer bearing. Here in the pic, the A3 is sitting on the spindle over the bushing. I need to swap the backing plate and mount the drum, to see if I need to shorten the bushing.
