Hey !!!! "GRUBBWORM" how are you ??? I Followed your THREAD on your BLACK TRUCK... How is your Truck doing ??? "FLOURMAKER" has a very nice Thread going hear and is BEAUTIFULLY building this 1947. Totally MOTIVATING me on my 1958 F250.. LOL..... "FLUORMAKER" got some SKILLS going on his build, VERY COOL on how it is coming out.
Hey... That rear end buttoned up together nicely, love that look with those shocks coiled up. Nice job !! on that Motor Mount bar their and the engine Looks GREAT Mounted in with that "MSD" distributor. You said it is running... "HOW DID IT DO" cranked right up or did it Take it's Time ??? must of been loud with the manifolds open LOL.....
It took a bit of cranking. I had the timing off. A little turn of the dizzy solved that.
I tried uploading a video but photobucket isn't letting me right now. I'll try again later.
I'm doing good, hope you are too. My truck is on hold until at least spring of next year.
Good To Hear... Yes, doing well and following "FLOURMAKER's" Thread here who's got some skills with a Welder, I wish he lived close by and was a friend, I could use him for my 58 LOL !! Ok well I will see you in the Threads and Good Luck with that Truck in the Spring.... LOVE the HIJACKING THREAD Icon....
Hey Their, that's allot of holes you patched in WOW !!!, looks like it came out good, that's something I need to start doing is Body Work on my 58, but I Lack the welding skills so I have to look for a good welder, because these old Trucks are METAL TANKS. NICELY DONE !!! on the body work, and when the primer goes on it will look even better. Do you have a COLOR in mind ??

The fenders and running boards will be the newest chevy grey'ish blue. And the cab and box will be off white. Owners choice
That's OK, That two tone scheme should look NICE !! Plus it's not a color scheme you see everyday so it should be appealing when looked at by other People. COOL !!
I'm pulling up a chair for this.
I have a '47 1 ton pick up on deck. Just don't know if I'll have time to restore her to her original state of grandeur. She's all original though, used to be a hardware stores delivery truck. Only 40k miles on her, and she ran until she was parked in '97. Fortunately the motor turns over by hand and feels like it still has good compression. And here in Socal, no rust!
Enough about my lady, yours looks like it's coming along quite nicely. Looking forward to watching this build progress.
Gonna be a lot of activity with the '47 trucks soon. Torched, I'm hoping to see pics of your tonner. I have lived and breathed the one ton pickups for almost 30 years. Best all around truck for me. I'm getting a '47 2 ton when they decide to deliver it. Arrrrgh, and I will post pics of progress as I get it situated here and try to start it up after sitting for what looks like many years. Flourmaker, the work you are doing is truly inspirational. My welding is steadily improving, and almost as good as my wife's. True story..... Keep up the pics! Something 'bout a jailbar, for sure.
I would like to start off by saying that this is my first reply and I have a 1947 ford I am working on aswell.
I am super impressed with all the quality hard work you have done and all I can say is WOW. It will look beautiful when your done so I just want to say your dedication is remarkable to restore that truck.
I am just in the middle of swapping out the motor to and I am concerned how I can adjust the steering mecs considering I am putting in 351 Windsor and want to run headers so I don't loose horse power. I was told it will be a very tight fit and I will run into problems with the manual steering. any ideas. I want to keep steering to keep the original feel . my kids love how bouncy and rough ride it is . it makes you feel like your driving a truck from the forties. good luck with everything kevin
