Okay I have p235/75R15 sized tires on my 1995 F150 extended cab. I don't do any heavy hauling or any towing. I mostly use it just to bop around town. So specs say 35 PSI in front and 41 in back. Is that what I should be doing, given my light duty use of truck?
I never really pay attention to the door pillar sticker for tire pressure...on any vehicle.
Best thing, draw a chalk line across the tread of your tire, roll on it a couple turns at different PSI's, and find out witch one wears off the chalk line evenly across the tread, that will be your ideal tire pressure.
I found that on my 89 F150, 30psi in the back and 32 in the front is what it needs for the tire to wear down evenly.
Maximum tire pressure is only needed when the vehicle will be fully loaded, follow DieselJohn's advice to find the optimum pressure for even tire wear and maximum traction.
