I have 72 f250 4x4 and just recently saw that the drivers side spindle is pretty beat up and the outer bearing does not sit well on it.
I've searched and found one on ebay but it looks even worse than mine.
Its got six bolt holes and a larger diameter for the inner bearing.
I'm thinking that a few of you have upgraded to newer axles and may have some left over parts?
It doesn't seem like these dana 44's are very desirable haha
Parts number on my spindle says 25789X-S3G96
Any help is greatly appeciated
Where in CA are you located? There's a long time family owned truck dismantlers yard here in LA LA Land that probably has several of these spindles.
Left: Ford to Manufacturer part number cross reference: column right, 3rd entry / Right: Scroll down to parts list #139...then column right, 3rd entry.
That's it, ask for Marty, tell him "Packard" Bill said to call. Spindles are on the top shelf of the bin located adjacent to back staircase. Marty will know where that is.
Awesome, will they be able to look by part number or should i just bring it in? (still on the truck right now)
You know what it looks like and the Dana # should be marked on it. I just called and spoke with Ed, Marty was out in the back 40, but Ed will relay the message.
Several years ago, Dave (garbz2) and I were poking around the 2nd floor mezzanine. Dave looked down, spotted the spindles, said "those are hard to find." Dave has a 1968 F250 4WD Crew Cab.
Well,
I stopped by today to take a look for one. They had probably around ten that looked really similar to mine but part numbers didn't match. Actually all the part numbers I saw started with a 'B'. The other difference was they all had needle bearings where the axle rides were as mine has a bronze bushing...
Not sure where to go from here...they might have one that matches up dimension wise and just throw that one?
Heck it maybe easier to find a disc brake axle setup then to find a fairly good usable large spindles that will last for a number of yrs....you might try pirate4x4 site lots guys always upgrading and trading parts..orich
Did you get any prices on the spindles they had in stock? Orich may be right by upgrading to a newer Dana 44 axle I come across them alot more then our old closed knuckle axles. I know where there is some old axles but since you said there's a couple different kinds of spindles I don't know if any will be the right one you need without tearing them apart

I spoke with Marty yesterday at 4:30, he said if you bring the original, he can match it up.
