Well i have the oppertunity to buy yet another ford truck . A 73 f250 4x4 long bed with the 390 . Now i love all of that right up to the long bed part . I like the extra capacity in the bed but the crazy long wherl base is what i have a problem with. Especially in my expirience the places im gonna be taking the truck all that extra truck in the rear and that uber long wheel base makes negotiating some climbs and definately turns a little bit of an issue. So would it even be plausible to shorten the wheel base within money/time reason? Or without possibly slicing up the frame.
That rack is pretty sweet . And ya im not lookin for a rock crawler but to grab wood out here u have to get into some pretty hinky places gaha it would b a toy/ work truck lol
There's only sixteen inches difference in a short and long wheelbase. I know a guy that put 3/4 ton springs under a short-bed years ago. If you had filling in your teeth it would shake them out. Talk about rough!
