Shortening of frame and bed on a F-250

Welcome to FTE.
I know there have been posts on people doing this I just don't remember if it was on 4x2's or 4x4's?
Other than making sure it is welded back on right so the truck goes down the road straight the only other thing would be the rear drive shaft.
Because the truck is a 4x4 the rear drive shaft is short to start with and you are making it even shorter. Just make sure before you start the rear dive is not too short.

Why would you shorten it behind the rear wheels? The factory short beds are the same behind the rear wheels as the long beds.
I have both and assure you they are no different.

I would also research the driveshaft more. See what they did on the factory shortbed f150's. They may have had a double-cardan joint at the transfer case like some of the Broncos. That along with wedges between the axle pads and the rear leaf springs.

Yes, it would be a lot easier to just get a factory short bed from a f150. Make the frame match that.

No wedges; just the regular 2 inch block.
Driveshaft on mine is just a regular DS.
