Dumb Question

I have 292 Y Block and was wondering if a T 10 Tranny will bolt up

Depends on what year and what it was used on
Ford used the t-10 on the 56 or 57 Thunderbird and then on other cars up thru 64 - Those could fit your Y-Block
GM and others used the t10 and changed the bolt patterns and input shaft that would require an adapter

No Thunderbird came w/a 4 speed, no Passenger Car w/a Y block came w/a 4 speed.

FoMoCo: 1960 was the first year the Warner T-10 was offered, initially in full sized Fords. Replaced by Ford 4 speed.

Ford full size: 1960 352 / 1961 352/390 / 1962 390/406 / 1963 390/406/427 / 1964 390/427.

Mercury full size: 1962 390/406 / 1963 390/406/427 / 1964 390/427.

1963/65 Fairlane 221/260/289 / 1963/65 Falcon/Comet 260/289 / 1965/66 Mustang 289.

btw: 1951/64 Studie V8's have solid lifters, dizzy behind carb. When introduced in 1951 (232 V8), was almost a direct copy of 1949 Caddy 331 V8.

Caddy 331 4V intake manifold bolts to Studie 232, but Studie 2V intake manifold won't bolt to Caddy!

The inside pattern on the dual pattern T-10s are the same as regular Ford transmissions (I think, measure before spending any money).

I would think a scatter shield could be ordered with any pattern.
