CLUSTER INFO???
Is it possible to replace odo in a 99 F350 ?Friend got truck with bad cluster with about 132k on the odo. I been looking for one but they all have ton of miles on them. Whats a Smokiesman to do??

I remember waaay back when I was a teenager, one of my friends parents had an Eagle something or other that had an electronic dash. The whole thing had to be replaced and the dealership put a sticker (that I am sure was required by law) on the driver door jam that stated the mileage that the car had when the dash was replaced.

Yup! right after I posted started to do a little more digging on the matter . Yes you can have it repaired and no I could not change out the odo. The is a bunch of paper work to do when getting repaired and did not want to go there.
I lucked out and found one on Ebay with the very close miles for a 7.3 and AT trans and for $72 bucks I'll take it!!
I could not believe the amount of diff clusters for those year SD. Number one is there are a ton of them cheap for gassers but the 7.3 were pretty slim pickens!
The ones out there for a 99 had a ton of miles on them thats why the subject of the odo was posted. So thurs it should be here can get it installed and see if it might get rid of the blinkin OD lite! Drove truck last nite runs and shifts great!but only the tach in the cluster works and the cluster board looks a little toasty! Will try and get some pics of the truck. it is a 99 F350 CC LB 4x4 champagne 130K miles. Friend is selling the truck!

I dont think it is illegal to change your odometer - but its definitely not legal to misrepresent mileage when selling a vehicle. A body shop guy is always telling me to get a low-mileage cluster for my truck (I'll never sell it) because that is ALL the insurance adjuster looks at when determining your vehicles value (not registration or any other 'history').
